From August 5 to 9, the Swiss Youth Championships of jumping were held in the beautiful facilities of the Manège du Chalet-à-Gobet. Three riders, members of the Swiss Youth Jumping Teams were able to wear Alogo Move Pro during their respective championships, two Juniors, Chloé Terrier & Léon Pieyre as well as a Young Rider, Romain Cleto. It should be noted that the latter had never tested the sensor before, but were ready to try it out during the event, and this with brilliance since everyone noticed an improvement in the quality of their courses throughout the championships. We thank and congrats Chloé for her first participation in these championships and her promising courses for the following competitions, Léon for his 5th place in the Juniors, and Romain, 6th in the Young Riders for his last participation in this category!

So we asked Romain for a feedback on his experience with the Alogo Move Pro sensor:

“When I was asked to wear the sensor, I was a bit reluctant, firstly because it’s a new technology and it was a bit unknown to me, secondly because I was worried that it might disturb my horse, and lastly because I doubted that I would have to change my habits and those of my horse on a championship day.

I tried it anyway, thinking that if I felt a difference in my horse in the training arena, I would remove it. But as everything went pretty well, my horse was jumping as usual and had no discomfort from wearing the Move Pro, so I kept the sensor for the course. I was very pleasantly surprised, once the device is fixed on the horse, you don’t feel it, it’s awesome.

I made some poles during the speed class, especially on verticals and when I went out I had difficulty knowing the reasons for these small mistakes. But thanks to the data collected by the sensor during my course, I was able to analyze them before the 2nd round and I really understood the nature of my faults. For example, I realized that I had to give my horse a little more space for the vertical, or that I had to be more careful to keep him straight around the jumps so that he wouldn’t shift in the air and commit a fault. I was then able to adjust these parameters for the rest of my championship and it paid off! I felt a positive change in the way my horse jumped and as the courses went on, we were committing fewer faults. It’s very interesting to compare the data from my first round with the following ones, you can see a significant improvement and you really know if the changes and adjustments made in the meantime had a positive effect.

I think the device has helped me a lot to become more aware of where and what exactly are the difficulties I encounter along the course. It also helped me to confirm the things that I do well and that my horse then assimilates correctly most of the time. I have no regrets at any point for having accepted to wear this sensor and I will gladly repeat the experience at home or at the show! »
